Side Projects

Below is an overview of the types of side projects I've recently completed or currently working on.

PRODUCT SCHOOL - Product Manager Certificate

We met with Manosai Earabathini, a seasoned Product Manager from Figma, for six weeks as he guided us through the Product School Learning Framework designed to teach Product Management. As a Project Manager and Business Analyst, I've always had strong empathy for the customer, and now I have new, valuable tools to advocate even more effectively for them.

For our final project, we played the role of a Product Manager at Stay-N-Sleep, a business similar to Airbnb, tasked with architecting a new loyalty program to increase customer retention and lifetime value. We presented our solution in a 5-minute visual presentation covering an executive summary, user personas, hypothesis validation, PRD and MVP features, development roadmap, user flow diagrams, engineering sprints, key metrics, and a go-to-market strategy.

eCommerce Website Wireframes & Designs

To establish myself as a proficient Figma user, I took a Skillshare class called "Figma UI UX Design Essentials" taught by Daniel Scott, an Adobe Certified Trainer.

The objective of this class was to create a fully interactive prototype. Additionally, we learned best practices, techniques, and terms used in Figma.

Use Case:

To create an eCommerce website where a customer can purchase an item.

Persona:

Skyler Bikes
Your ideal customer is a man named Brayden. Brayden is in their mid 40's and lives with friends. They are a high school graduate and work in a small team. Brayden lives in Chicago, has never bought anything similar to your product before, and is very Eco/Environment/Waste conscious.

Deliverables

The deliverables include mobile and desktop low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity design.

Learnings

One assumption in this use case was that each piece of content had to occupy its own separate page. However, to enhance user experience and streamline viewing, I opted to utilize scrolling and consolidate content that would typically have its own page into tabs within the same page.

Another assumption I made was that wireframes shouldn't overly elaborate on design details. However, in certain cases, it's essential to invest additional time in detailing the design to achieve the desired user experience. Feel free to view my work:

Video Editor / YouTube Channel Manager

My Mom is a poet and wanted to share her talent with the world, so I created a YouTube and Instagram channel. Recorded and edited her voice recording using the Audacity audio editor. Using Canva, an online visual design tool, I added videos and imagery to enhance each poem.

Recorded my voice for a promotional video for Collar de Perlas Artesenal Mexcal. In addition, using Audacity, edited the audio to align the timing with a previous Spanish version recording
